PHYLLIS ELIZABETH HAAG WILSON Obituary
WILSON, PHYLLIS ELIZABETH HAAG August 12, 1920 to January 4, 2013 Phyllis E. Wilson, San Diego resident for 68 years passed away on January 4, 2013. She died peacefully, surrounded by her family. Phyllis was the youngest of five children born to Carl and Elizabeth Haag, who had emigrated from Germany to Illinois. Seeking adventure, Phyllis moved to California. On a whim, she drove from Long Beach to San Diego just to go dancing. That night she met the love of her life, Joseph Wilson. Joe was frequently away on Navy deployment so the tasks of home life were left to Phyllis. Her greatest legacy is her family. She was enormously proud of her six children (Brent, Neil, Janet, Dawn, Dean and Joel) their spouses (Yvonne, Rachel, Deborah, Alisha), 12 grandchildren (Jennifer, Ryan, Kelli, Kirstin, Andrew, Annamarie, Blake, Kyle, Dina, Delaney, Dylan and Delilah) their spouses (Jimmy and Erin) and two great-grandchildren (Owen and Joe). She is now reunited with her beloved Joe dancing in heaven for eternity. Funeral Mass will be held at Mission Basilica San Diego del Alcala on Friday January 11, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. A reception to celebrate her life will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to: Disabled American Veterans P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 Attn: Gift Processing
