CANDELORE, MILDRED MARIE 1924 to 2013 Mildred "Millie" Candelore was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1924 to Alvin and Iva Fluck. Millie attended San Diego State University where she received a Masters in English Language. Upon graduation, Millie parlayed her combined vocal and instrumental talents into a cruise-ship musical career. This allowed her to travel to over twenty nations including China, Australia, India, and various European countries. In 1951 she married Dante E. Candelore, a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. Millie raised their four children in Germany, England, and France, eventually returning to Alexandria, Virginia and then San Diego, California. Millie will always be remembered for her daring, determination, work ethic, and generosity. She became a successful hands-on real estate investor while working full-time for the Navy. She enjoyed residential construction upgrade projects. She believed in helping people in need get themselves back on their feet. Millie actively managed her various investments until the day she passed peacefully in her sleep. Sharing in this extraordinary legacy are her four children, Dan Candelore, Craig Candelore, Brant Candelore, and Alayne Brent, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Sunday, January 20th, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church at 17010 Pomerado Road, San Diego, 92128.
