Paul Tanner Obituary
Tanner, Paul 10/15/1917 ~ 02/05/2013 CARLSBAD -- Paul Tanner, a very talented and humble man, passed away on February 5, 2013. I, Jan, his wife was at his side before and after he left our loving hands. My thought was that he was the dearest man who was ever put was put on this earth. His other survivors are his two step sons, Douglas and Dick; two brothers; Homer and Stuart; and very many nieces and nephews. I would like to give appreciation to our friend, Gil for all of his time and being such a good friend. Even though with all of his great talent as a trombonist with the Glenn Miller Band, which he was the only surviving member for the entire time from the very beginning to the end in absolutely every aspect, his accomplishments were tremendous including teaching as a Professor at UCLA for 23 years, enhancing the electro-theremin , played with ABC Orchestra, and was the author of college text books and three books on his life playing with Glenn Miller. He was also in the three Glenn Miller pictures including Sun Valley Serenade, Orchestra Wives and Glenn Miller story. If you would like to read additional information about Paul, please Google/Paul Tanner, his name.
