Betty Bader Obituary
Bader, Betty 10/03/1913 - 03/17/2013 SAN DIEGO -- Betty Goldblatt Bader passed away at her home in San Diego on March 17. She was 99. Born Toby Rivka to immigrant parents Morris and Esther Goldblatt, in Montreal, Betty lived in Portland, Ore., as a child. As a young working woman, she moved to the Los Angeles area, where she met and married Paul Bader. She was predeceased by him in 1962, and later by her beloved siblings, Rhoda, Leiba, Ida, Hilda and Irving. She was a woman of art, fashion, philanthropy and great personal vitality, who enjoyed learning about the many countries in which she traveled and the many people with whom she energetically engaged. She is survived by nephews, nieces and friends, all of us comforted to imagine her reunited with those she loved and who loved her, including her dear Westie, Bogie. The family is indebted to her dedicated caregivers and to San Diego Hospice professionals; their kindness and wisdom gave Betty great comfort. Gifts of remembrance may be made to the Doris Howell Foundation (howellfoundation.org) or Child Help (childhelp.org).
