Valdivia, Anthony 02/12/1921 - 03/27/2013 SAN DIEGO -- Anthony Valdivia was born on February 12, 1921 in Ray, Arizona to Norbert and Guadalupe Valdivia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia and son, Danny. He was welcomed home to the Lord on March 27, 2013 and leaves behind son, Tim and his wife Trisha, daughter, Linda and her sons, Miles and Troy, daughter Janice, and her sons, Chris and Tyler, and Justin, Danny's son. He was one of eight children and grew up in Los Angeles, attending University High School and later, graduating from UCLA. He served in the US Navy aboard the legendary USS Enterprise during World War II when it was hit by a Kamikaze that went several decks below, killing many of his shipmates. He was proud of his service on the USS Enterprise! He was an avid golfer, a Marathon Runner of Four Marathons and a member of Tony's Tigers. As the self-appointed UniHigh Picnic organizer, he would organize each year's reunion of his senior class and others up until his untimely passing. He was a great guy, an inspiration to all he came in contact with, a cheerleader of the underdog, a motivator, a great friend, a funny storyteller and a wonderful father and grandpa. We are all blessed to have had him in our lives and he was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. We love you Dad! A Celebration of Life will be held at Stoneridge Country Club, Poway, California on Saturday April 13th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to San Diego Junior Golf or .
