Anita Yu Quan Obituary
Quan, Anita Yu OCEANSIDE -- Anita Yu Quan, born in Malaysia October 21, 1921, died at peace at home on the afternoon on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 after suffering from dementia and a stroke in her last five years. Anita came to the United States from Hong Kong in 1955, was blessed with four children: Phyllis (Nelson) Layman, Peter (Catherine) Sih, Patricia (Bernie) Quan-Koch, and Frank (Janet) Quan; four granddaughters, Anita Newsome, Vanessa Tiffany and Allison Sih; one grandson, Matthew Quan; and three great- grandsons, Jonathan and Samuel Newsome and Jason Sih; and former husband, Raymond J. Quan. Anita worked for the County of San Diego from the early '60's until the late '70's, owned a business in Oceanside and then in retirement found her greatest joy in life of helping raise her grandson, Matthew. She was an active member and volunteer of the Mission San Luis Rey Parish. Services will be held with a Celebration of Life Mass at 10a.m. at Mission San Luis Rey, Oceanside on Friday, June 21, 2013, followed by graveside services at the Mission Cemetery. A reception in the Mission Dining Room will immediately follow.
