Curtis Gorden Clark Obituary
Clark, Curtis Gorden 12/31/1918 ~ 02/06/2014 SAN DIEGO -- Curt was born in Los Angeles, and grew up in Coalinga and Santa Cruz. He graduated from Santa Cruz High School, 1937. He joined the Navy in 1937 and served 23 years. He served on Four Stack APD's throughout WWII, then moved to the Beach Jumper Unit in Coronado. He retired from the Navy in 1959. Curt worked with General Dynamics, Cal-e-wo and Civil Service at NTC until 1980. He served as Master Mason and Officers Coach at Silvergate Lodge. Curt also served in various functions of Admiral Baker Men's club from 1969 to 1991 and of the Four Stack APD Association until 2012. Curt is survived by son, Paul, daughter- in- law, Oona, granddaughters Amber Hansen and husband James, Rachael Akin and husband Matt, Breana Clark, and great- granddaughter Neva Akin. He was preceded in death by wife, Mary B. and son, Michael L. Interment will be held on Monday, March 3rd, at 1 p.m. at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Curt's celebration of life will follow at Admiral Baker. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Curt's name to the Al Bahr Shrine Transportation Fund or The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
