Juanita C. Boydstun Obituary
Boydstun, Juanita C. SAN DIEGO -- Juanita "Nita" C. Boydstun of San Diego passed away in her home on May 4, 2014, at the age of 94. Born in Glenwood, Arkansas, to the late Charlie Clark and Clara (Watson) Coker, she was raised in Durant, Oklahoma. She graduated from Southeastern State College with a BS in Education. Immediately after graduation, she married the love of her life and new naval aviator Howard Junior (Howie) Boydstun. Nita loved everything about her role as the wife of a naval officer. She was the consummate hostess and loved the travels and adventures that were her life. In her later years, she had great fun attending the annual Golden Eagles gatherings and VF8 reunions, sharing a lifetime of memories with old friends. She especially enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She loved to travel and always looked forward to the next cruise or a trip to visit her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nita was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Captain Howard Junior Boydstun, USN (Ret). "Mammaw" is survived by her two daughters, Jane Caraway (Diane) of Eureka, CA, and Betty Davis (Michael) of Bloomington, IN; four grandchildren, Troy Douglas Caraway (Heather) of Overland Park, KS, David Boydstun Caraway (Liz) of Dedham, MA, Laura Kate Wiltz (James) of Bloomington, IN, and Sara Diane Davis of Durham, NC; six great- grandchildren, Jessica Nicole, Allison Christine, and Clarissa Grace Caraway; Christopher Howard Caraway; Marleyla Dillen and Elowen Nita Wiltz. Nita was a member of the First United Methodist Church of San Diego for over 40 years. No services are planned. Interment will take place in the church's Memorial Garden Columbarium. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Sharp Hospice Care, PO Box 1750, La Mesa, CA, 91944, or First United Methodist Church, 2111 Camino Del Rio South, San Diego, CA 92108.
