Sally B. McMenomey, 77, of Potter Valley, California passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2014. Born in Montery, California, she attended Pacific Grove High School. She later attended UCLA, received her teaching credential from San Jose State Teachers College and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Degree in English. Sally had a love of the English language and literature. She taught High School English for many years and was well remembered by her students as a stickler for grammar. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and gardening. One of her main joys in life was looking after her dogs, enjoying the view from the deck of her ranch home and raising her family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles Robert McMenomey, and her three sons, Bob McMenomey with wife Susan, Scott McMenomey with wife Kristy, and John McMenomey with wife Kristin. She is also survived by three grandchildren from Bob and Susan, Charlie, Michael and David; four grandchildren from Scott and Kristy, Jacqui, Jeanie, Annie and Carson; and two grandchildren from John and Kristin, Hannah and Ryder as well as two great-grandchildren Heather and Issac. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Potter Valley Volunteer Fire Department, 10521 Main Street, Potter Valley, California 95469. The family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to the community for all of their love and support.
