EPPING - Bruce Werner Hauschel, 75, of Epping, died on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at his home after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
The Guest Book is expired.
He was born in Exeter, on April 29, 1938, to Herman and Gertrude (Ade) Hauschel. He graduated from Newmarket High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1961. He was a proud submariner and served on the historic USS Sarda 488.
He married Jeannette Bernier of Epping, on Jan. 8, 1966, and together they had three children, Bruce H. Hauschel of Newmarket, Greta Hauschel-Boulerice of Swanton, Vt., and Brian J. Hauschel of Newmarket.
He was a 47-year member of the American Legion Post 67, Disabled American Veterans, Rising Star Masonic Lodge 47, The Dover Elks Lodge 184, and a member of the Retired Professional Golfers Association of America.
He co-owned the Rockingham Country Club in Newmarket until 1989, then moved to Epping and began B & H Sales and Service until his passing. He enjoyed spending time in his workshop (clubhouse) with many friends and reminiscing about times during his submarine service. He was proud of his reputation in the golf cart industry and made many people happy as a result of his commitment to excellence. He also enjoyed spending time with family and teaching his grandsons how to use tools, drive golf carts, and passing down "all his tricks." He will be missed greatly by the neighborhood.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jeannette, along with their son Bruce and his wife, Acksone; their two sons, Herrick, and Maddox; daughter Greta and her husband, Allen; their son Max; son Brian and his daughter Emily. He was predeceased by his brother, George Hauschel.
