MANCHESTER - Charles E. Reibel, 82, passed away on June 30, 2013. He was born in Paris on March 6, 1931, the son of Jay Maurice and Alva K. (Cole) Reibel.

Charles graduated from New Rochelle High School in New Rochelle, N.Y. In New York City, he was a machinist, a pattern maker, an artist and an exceptional wood carver. Charles worked at New York University and St. Vincent's Hospital and studied for many years at the Art Students League of New York. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean War.

He is survived by a sister, Alva Cumming of Manchester; a niece, Jill Jedele and her husband, Ronald, of Saline, Mich.; two nephews, Robert B. Cumming of Manchester and Douglas A. Cumming and his wife, Joan, of Los Angeles.

Graveside services in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester, will be private.
