TEWKSBURY, Mass.- Charles R. Johnson of Tewksbury formerly of Belmont, died Nov. 15, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (Dolan) Johnson; devoted father of Mark H. Johnson and his wife, Carol, of Reading, Steven F. Johnson of Tewksbury, Edward C. Johnson and his wife, Linda, of Sitka, Alaska, Sally A. Johnson and her companion, Jill, of Cambridge, and Timothy J. Johnson and his wife, Suzanne, of Bedford, N.H.; loving grandfather of Matthew, Amy, Josie Lynn, Michael, Andrew, Amanda and Brayden; brother of Winnifred Maloney of Chatham, N.H., and the late George Johnson and Norma MacPherson.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a graduate of Northeastern University and alumnus of the Lowell Tech master's program in engineering. He was a retired engineer of the Mass. D.P.W./D.O.T. He was a former member of the Belmont Cemetery Commission and Town Meeting member for Precinct 8. He was a dedicated member of the Lions Club of Belmont for 46 years.


services: The funeral will be from the Stanton Funeral Home, 786 Mount Auburn St. (Route 16), Watertown, on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be in St. Joseph Church, Common Street, Belmont, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Highland Meadow Cemetery. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
