GILFORD - Donald J. Malin, 81, of Winter Park Florida and Gilford, formerly of Somerville passed away peacefully on May 3, 2014. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Joan (Downey) Malin, his four children; Edward and his wife Bonnie of Gilford, Nancy Henry of Londonderry, William and his wife Kim of Manchester, and Paul of Avon, Colorado, his two grandchildren Ryan and Sean Henry of Londonderry, three brothers; John, James, Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Stella Malin and two brothers; Michael and William. Donald served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956, serving on the aircraft carrier "Midway." He was employed by Raytheon Company of Massachusetts for 39 years at various locations. In 1974 he transferred to Orlando, Fla. to work on the Patriot Missile Program at Lockheed Martin. He retired from there in 1995.

services: Visiting hours will be held at the Brown-Flaherty Funeral Home, 261 Washington St., Union Square, Somerville, Mass., on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church on Thursday at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at the N.H. State Veteran's Cemetery, Boscawen, on Thursday at 1 p.m. Donations in Donald's memory may be made to the N.H. State Veteran's Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 626, Concord, NH 03302 or Edmundite Mission 1428 Broad St., Selma, AL 36701-4304.
