Candia - Dorothy Ann (Foster) Purington, 86, of Candia, died Oct. 3, 2013.

She was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Berkeley, Calif., to Goodwin LeBaron and Grace (Page) Foster.
Dott was an avid reader and loved history. She belonged to the Candia Historical Society and supported Smyth Public Library. She was a longtime trustee of the Fitts Museum and the author of "A Candia Collection," a compilation of pictures, articles and original material. An avid quilter and knitter, she belonged to the Quilters Guild in Candia.
Dott was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Kenneth A. Purington. She will be greatly missed by her two sons, Kenneth A. Purington II of Candia and Eric Purington and his wife, Lenore, of Cliff, N.M.; her daughter, Tracy (Purington) Bascom and her husband, William, of Candia and Belmont; her grandchildren, Rachel Bascom of Seattle and Alexander Bascom of Tempe, Ariz.; her cousin, Priscilla Page of Montpelier, Vt.; nieces and nephews; and her beloved black Lab, Charly.
