Bedford - George I. Crocker Jr., 92, died April 23, 2014, at the Laurel Center.He was born on Dec. 5, 1921, in North Leominster, Mass., the son of the late Ella M. (Stone) and George I. Crocker Sr.After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a radioman first class, serving on the USS Denver as a captain's radioman.Mr. Crocker was an interior designer and lifelong salesman working at Hiscox Furniture of Lawrence, Mass., Sullivan Furniture in Lawrence, Mass., and later at A.A. Mooney in Bedford. In his younger years, he was a landscape designer and often pointed out houses with his designs.He was a lifelong member of the First Calvary Baptist Church in North Andover, Mass. George was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the USS Denver Association.George was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, going for long rides through his beloved New England mountains, seashores and shipyards, and spending time with his family.Family members include his sons, Jeffrey A. Crocker (predeceased by his wife Cynthia) of Port Charlotte, Fla., and John R. Crocker and his wife, Brigitte (Beaulieu), of Manchester; daughter Anne E. (Crocker) Slater and her husband, Norman, of Seekonk, Mass.; grandchildren Scott, Timothy and his wife, Amber, and Amy, all of Attleboro, Mass., Hillary, Bronwyn and her partner, Nicholas DiMauro, Jeffrey Jr. and his wife, Alison, all of Methuen, Mass., and Ian of Manchester; two great-grandchildren, Mario and Gwendolyn.Mr. Crocker was predeceased by his first wife, Norma A. (Rushforth) Crocker; his second wife, Lorraine S. (Gagnon) Crocker; his sister, Dorothy Reed; and his brother, Robert A. Crocker.


services: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 172 King St., Boscawen, on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. His funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Pastor Delphain Demosthenes of Memorial Baptist Church, Seekonk, Mass., will officiate. Interment with military honors will be at the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, at noon.Donations in George's memory can be made to Healing Waters Fly Fishing, P.O.
