MANCHESTER - Harold K. Hoffman, 93, of Manchester, died April 13, 2014, at the Elliot Hospital. Harold was born on Oct. 5, 1920, in Bedford, the son of the late Fred and Fanny (Mudrack) Hoffmann.

Harold proudly served in the U.S. Army in WWII stationed in England where he met his wife, Norah F. Cribbens. They were married for 40 years until her passing in 1984. He married Adelaide M Derkacz (Earnshaw) on April 20, 1988 and both resided in Bedford, until this past Christmas where Harold was a resident of the Arbors of Bedford and Adelaide is a resident of Cypress Cove Care Center in Florida. He is also graduate of Manchester West High School class of 1938-A and he is a graduate of Bentley University, earning a degree in accounting and finances.
Harold was a member of many clubs and organizations including the American Legion Sweeney Post #2, Manchester Pointer Fish & Game, The Harugari Club, Manchester Turn Verein, and the 56'th Fighter Group Association. He was a member and served as elder of Bedford Presbyterian Church and became a Communicant of St. Raphael's Church on March 26, 2005. He was employed for over 45 years at the NH Insurance Company and served as Assistant Secretary.
He enjoyed summers at the family camp at Baboosic Lake since the age of 6 and enjoyed the annual ritual of dock day in the spring with the hillside crew. Harold also enjoyed bowling, golf, boating, gardening, playing cribbage, hunting and fishing at the Bungy Camp in Columbia N.H. He watched Boston sports teams, especially the Bruins as he played semi pro hockey for St. Jean the Baptist at Dorr's Pond and Froggy Pond in Manchester.
Harold is survived by his two sons; Richard Hoffman and his wife Diane of Milford, and Brian Hoffman and Nancy Kilbride of Bedford. two grandsons; Chris Hoffman of Amherst, and Scott Whipple and his wife Gina of Weare. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Cath Cribbens of Keston, Kent, England and his nephews Nicholas, Timothy, Jonathan and Simon.
He is predeceased by the son and daughter of Adelaide, William J. Derkacz and Carol Collet.
services: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 16, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Cain & Janosz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 74 Brook St, corner of Pine Street, Manchester. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 17, at 9:30 a.m. in the Cain & Janosz Funeral Home and Cremation Service officiating will be Fr. Jerome Joseph Day of the St. Raphael Parish. Burial will take place at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
