HOOKSETT - Harry J. Korslund Jr., 85, passed away at his home on Oct. 29, 2013. Born and raised in Norwood, Mass., the son of Harry J. and Irene Korslund, he was a resident of Hooksett for 50 years. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

He was a member of the Hooksett Congregational Church where he served on various boards and committees and during the 1970s was a fixture at the church's annual street fair, serving up tasty chicken from the barbecue pit.
He leaves his son, Harry J. Korslund III and his wife, Mary, of Windham; his daughter, Karoline D. Korslund and her husband, Daniel Boisclair, of Amherst, Mass.; and his son, Peter W. Korslund and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lafayette, Colo. In addition, he leaves his eight grandchildren, Laura Korslund of Cambridge, Mass.; Gregory H. Korslund of Houston, Texas; Leanna and Benjamin Boisclair of Amherst, Mass.; Erin and Kara Korslund of Peabody, Mass.; and Gretchen and Leif Korslund of Lafayette Colo.; a niece and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Eleonore, in 2006; his parents; and his brother, Benjamin. He subtly expressed his feelings, yet was so proud of his family. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother and his family will sorely miss him.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Hooksett Congregational Church, 5 Veterans Drive, Hooksett 03106.
