GROTON - James J. Albert, 81, of Groton, passed away after two-and-a-half years of fighting leukemia on Thursday, April 25, 2013, in his own home, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Mr. Albert was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 51 years, Bonnie Albert; four children, Rhonda Tracy, Tony and Scott Albert, and Darlene Paratore; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul Adams and Lewis Albert, and sister, Eva White. He was predeceased by eight other siblings and one son, Jimmy Jr.

There will be a memorial service held at the Marion Center by the Chapel (West Shore Road, Bristol) on Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m.
