AUBURN - Katherine May (Harkness) Fatzinger, of Auburn, and Nazareth, Pa., died on Oct. 8, 2013.

She was born on March 18, 1928, in Sellersville, Pa. She graduated from Wyomissing High School. She served her country as a U.S. Navy WAVE reservist.

Katherine worked as a stenographer prior to her marriage to the late Harold V. ("Rudy") Fatzinger in 1952. She spent the remainder of her life in a full time job as a devoted "wife-mother-grandmother."

Katherine was a quiet, kind person who enjoyed reading, playing cards, going on trips with her husband, and eating at the Nazareth Diner. She could be amazingly lucky. While her husband Rudy would calculate the odds, Katherine would pick up her playing cards or put the dime in a slot machine and somehow always seemed to win. Her large family, her children, and especially her grandchildren were her life. She will be dearly missed by all of these groups.

Family members include her deceased husband Harold V. Fatzinger; four living sisters, Alice, Louise, Ernie and Fay; one brother Tom; three children Phyllis F. McShane, Lucille F. Rhodes and Harold E. Fatzinger; and six grandchildren Amanda, Brent, Jessie, Steven, Kevin and RC.
