MIMS, Fla. - Laurence A. "Larry" Murphy, 91, entered into eternal rest Sept. 8, 2013. He resided in Mims 28 years.

Born in Conway, N.H., to Arthur and Pearl (Wood) Murphy, he married Eleanor Walker in April 1944. They lived in Portsmouth, N.H., and retired to Rockledge and Mims in 1971. Larry served as a SeaBee in World War II and worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for over 30 years as a machinist X31, and planner and estimator, working on nuclear subs, retiring as a supervisor, P&E.
He and Eleanor traveled the U.S. and Canada in their RV until her passing in 1988. He loved to play cards and dance and, in his later years, go on cruises. He is survived by three children, Shirley (Anthony) Mongillo of Connecticut, Richard (Doris) of Florida and Paul (Joanne) of Virginia; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters.
