SCARBOROUGH, Maine - Mary P. "Polly" Dinmore passed away at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough on Sunday, April 21, 2013. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 21, 1930, in Albany, N.Y., to Harry C. and Mary A. Dinmore; she attended Lowell, Mass., schools, and graduated from Brown University in 1951 and received her master's degree in education from the University of Illinois in 1962.
She lived in Hamden, Conn., most of her adult life, working as a school counselor and later as a school psychologist for the Cheshire, Conn., school district until her retirement. She moved to The Huntington, a retirement center in Nashua, N.H., where she had a wonderful family of friends.
Survivors include her sister, Harriett L. Allen, Yarmouth; nephew and nieces, Jeffrey C. Allen and wife Patricia of Portland, Amy A. Marshall and husband Michael of Bedford, N.H.; Elizabeth L. Vought and husband Michael of Reading, Pa.; great-nieces and great-nephews Carleton and Benjamin Allen, Mollie and Valerie Gendron, Bailey Marshall, Hannah and Noelle Vought; great-great-niece and nephew Jordan Schuler and Sean Aho.
The family is grateful to the compassionate care that the staff at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House provided for Polly. Polly's thirst for knowledge, along with her enthusiasm, encouragement and support inspired two generations of nieces and nephews to continue their educations and earn college degrees.
Every summer Polly would rent a beach house in Maine and welcome family members from near and far with open arms, creating wonderful memories for all..
services: Services will be held Saturday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 214 Main St., Nashua, N.H. Burial will be in the Lowell Cemetery, where there will be a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Polly's name to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Road, Scarborough 04074.
