NEW BOSTON - Newton Fiske Smith, 68, of New Boston, died Nov. 25, 2012.

Born in Goffstown Feb. 2, 1944, he was the son of Lawson and Charlotte (Ball) Smith. He lived in New Boston most of his life.

During the Vietnam War, he served with the United States Army.

He worked in the construction industry for many years. Until his retirement, he was a truck driver with D&S Excavation Company.

He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed wildlife.

Family members include his son, Frank L. Smith of Pembroke; his daughter, Audrey C. Donah and her husband, Curt, of Litchfield; a grandson, Cody Humphreys; his brother, Renton B. Smith of New Boston; several nieces and nephews and and his former wife and friend, Betty (Davis) Smith of Milford.

SERVICES: Following cremation, urn burial with military honors will take place in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Palliative Care Unit, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester 03104.
