GOFFSTOWN - Peter L. Jenkins, 77, of Goffstown died suddenly March 5, 2014, while vacationing in Hawaii.

Son of George A. and Janice Lovell Jenkins, he moved to Goffstown in 1948.
He was president of GHS, class of 1954. He was a graduate of N.H. Technical College as an auto mechanic.
He was the former 35-year co-owner of Goffstown Truck Center, Inc. providing area school bus transportation; past board member of the N.H. School Transportation Association; retired 33-year call firefighter; member of the Board of Fire Wardens and interim fire chief.
He was recognized as 1997 Rotary Club Citizen of the Year for exemplary community, as an accomplished sailor, salt water fisherman, avid deer hunter, fine woodworker, helpful hand of kind deeds, and shining example to everyone he met.
Peter was an honest and loving husband, caring and encouraging father, devoted and patient grandfather, brother of three, and valued friend.
He leaves behind a wife of 34 years, Nancy Coburn Jenkins; four daughters and their spouses, Cathy and Don Ball of Goffstown; Karen Eldridge and Lindy Evans of Goffstown, Kristen and Chip Cloutier of Nottingham, Kimberly and Scott Neesen of New Boston; eight grandchildren, Ami Ball Marler, Alison Ball Huddy, Ryan, Jason and Sydney Eldridge, Kylie and Camden Neesen and Riley Cloutier; two great-grandchildren, Aidan Marler and Harper Mae Huddy; brother to Ann and her husband, Bob Denoncourt of Conway, Linda Jenkins-Bestwick of Pa., Richard T. Jenkins of Virginia;, many nieces, nephews and extended family that fondly called him "Grampa Pete.
SERVICES: Calling hours at French & Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St., Goffstown, will be held Thursday March13 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Calling hours on Friday, March 14 will be from noon to 1 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
