Concord - Philip "Pike" Colgan, 82, of Bow Street, passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Concord Hospital.

He was born in Concord, one of seven children of Philip and Cesarie (Roy) Colgan. He attended Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Concord High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He worked in the composing room for the Union Leader for more than 30 years before retiring.
Philip enjoyed gardening, football, baseball and hockey. In 2011, he was inducted into the N.H. Hockey Legends Hall of Fame.
Philip was predeceased by his loving wife, Marilyn (Reid) Colgan; his son, Brian Colgan; and his daughter, Deborah Gendron; his brothers and sisters, Leonard, Louis, Paul, Helen and Irene Colgan.
He is survived by his two sons, Dan Colgan of Concord and Philip Colgan of Honolulu; two daughters, Diane French and her husband, Gary, of Bow, and Karen Stewart and her husband, Brian, of Concord; nine grandchildren, Matthew Colgan, Thomas, Lauren and Rachel Vaughan, Megan and Jonathan French, Brett, Ian and Emma Stewart; his brother, Bernard Colgan of Concord; and many nieces and nephews.
services: Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Jan. 5, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main Street, Concord. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 52 Pleasant St., Concord. Burial will follow at the Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.
