LAS VEGAS - Richard H. Guillemette, 81, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

He was born Nov. 12, 1932, in Manchester, N.H., son of the late Armand and Yvonne (Richard) Guillemette.
Richard was a longtime resident of Manchester, N.H., until 1989 when he and his wife, Helen (Roberge), retired to Lakeland, Fla. He graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1952. Following high school, Richard joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War. He was a firefighter for the Manchester Fire Department, retiring after 27 years. He was also a master carpenter by trade and worked 15 years for Ed Neveu Construction, building homes in the Goffstown, Bedford and Merrimack, N.H., areas. He enjoyed woodworking and liked to keep busy with projects at home and for family and friends.
Besides his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his son, Michael Guillemette and his wife, Sue, of Hooksett, N.H.; daughter Lisa Gioacchini and her husband, Rick, of Methuen, Mass.; daughter Karen Kaltsas and her husband, Charles, of Manchester, N.H.; and son John Guillemette and his wife, Rosanne, of Las Vegas. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Derek Guillemette of New York City, Shawna Guillemette of Hooksett, N.H., Jennifer Proulx of Manchester, N.H., Devin Gioacchini (USMC), Jacqueline Proulx of Manchester, N.H., Nathan Gioacchini of Methuen, Mass., and Angelica Guillemette of Las Vegas; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Roger and Normand, and a sister, Lorraine.
