YORK, Maine - Rudolph E. Logdahl of Fort Myers, Fla., summer resident of York, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, in York Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1916, in Wildwood Township, Minn., a son of the late Franz R. and Ethel M Logdahl.

Rudolph "Rudy" served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and worked in the New Hampshire Air National Guard before retiring. Throughout his distinguished career, he received more than 11 medals and awards for exemplary service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Eleanor E Logdahl of York; a son, Ronald J. Logdahl and his wife, Cena Michelle Harmon, of Pensacola, Fla.; three daughters, Susan E. Novak and her husband, Frank, of Wolfeboro, N.H., Janice L. Tuttle and her husband, James of Nottingham, N.H., and Nancy J. Ramsey and her husband, Michael, of York; two brothers, Carl Logdahl of Manchester, N.H. and Gerald Logdahl of Northhome, Minn., a sister, Gertrude Larson of International Falls, Minn.; seven grandchildren: Scott, Michael, Kelley, Aaron, Christin, Emma and Megan; and three great- grandchildren, Colin, Cullum, and Weston.

He was an incredible and loving father and husband with a kind and gentle spirit who will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to get to know him.


SERVICES: A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
