THE VILLAGES, Fla. - Sherman A. Chase of The Villages, formerly of Londonderry, N.H., died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, after a year-long battle with cancer.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was later employed by the Department of Defense at the Missile Tracking Station in New Boston, N.H., as a fireman.

Mr. Chase was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages, the American Legion, and the American Military Society.

He is survived by his wife, Irma of The Villages; son, Gregory (Shelley) Chase of Hudson, N.H.; daughter, Donna Chase Ward of Pittsfield, N.H.; grandchildren, Kiara of Hudson, N.H., Evan and Wesley, both of Pittsfield, N.H.; brothers, Franklin of Derry, N.H., and Robert of Orange Park; sister, Sally Pelissier of Brooksville; and several nieces and nephews.


services:A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 1 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church. Inurnment with military honors will be held Friday, Nov. 2, 2 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
