AMHERST - Thomas "Tom" A. Tresvik, 62, passed away on April 17, 2013, after a long battle with cancer.
The Guest Book is expired.
He was born in Kingston, N.Y., on Aug. 24, 1950, the son of Raymond P. and Estelle A. (Lober) Tresvik. He graduated from Kingston High School. Upon graduation he entered the U.S. Air Force, serving his country for four years in Spain and Korea. Tom was joined in marriage with Faye Shultis on Sept. 21, 1974. He was employed for 32 years with Digital Equipment Corp., starting as a field service engineer and later transitioning to software. He went on to hold numerous managerial positions and finished his 40-year career as a manager at EMC.
He enjoyed vacationing throughout the country in their RV and particularly enjoyed the Maine coast and the ocean. Tom will be remembered for his unique brand of humor, a sense of humor never lost even in his final days. Tom developed a strong Christian faith later in his life and he enjoyed sharing his passion with others. Without his faith, he and his family would not have made it through his two-year battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Faye; a son, Justin Andrew Tresvik of Massachusetts; a daughter, Laura Corrinne Larner and her husband Seth, of Massachusetts; his mother Estelle of Rifton, N.Y.; three brothers, Paul Tresvik, Steve Tresvik and his wife Maria, and Kenneth Tresvik and his wife Angelica; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kyle Davin, in 1978; and his father, Raymond.
