Hampton - Thomas Sharpe III, 83, of Hampton died Saturday, May 24, 2014, surrounded by his family at Hyder Family Hospice House, Dover.He was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Salem, the son of the late Thomas Sharpe Jr. and Eunice (Lake) Azziz.Tom was raised in Salem, where he served 25 years as a police officer, retiring in 1985. He later worked as a roofer with his sons at T. Sharpe & Sons Roofing.Tom was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and a member of the Spacetown Beagle Cub in Raymond as well as several other Beagle Clubs. In his younger years, he worked as a farmer and was a Golden Gloves boxer. He also was a longtime member of the Spicket Lodge 85 F&AM Masonic Lodge in Salem and Bektash Temple Shrine in Concord.He shared 37 years of marriage with his wife, MaryAnn (Pacheco) Sharpe of Hampton.In addition to his wife, family members include his sons Thomas D. Sharpe and his wife, Sherryl, of Windham, Stephen Sharpe and Rosalie Riley of Salem, David Sharpe of Salem, James Sharpe of Pittsburgh, Ryan Sharpe and his wife, Amanda, of Hampton; daughters Linda Burke and her husband, Kevin, of Salem, Donna Kelley and her husband, Kevin, of St. Cloud, Fla., Billie-Jo Sharpe and Michael Demers of Hampton; three sisters, Eleanor Girard of Salem, Virginia Ball of Townsend, Mass., Barbara Belanger of Salem; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Robert E. Sharpe..

SERVICES: A celebration of life will be held at noon on Monday, June 2, in the Derry-Salem Elks Lodge 2226 on Route 111, Salem.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.Assistance with arrangements was by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
