NEWTON - Victor W. Silva, 77, longtime resident of Newton, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday morning, Dec. 15, 2013, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Mass., surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Cambridge, Mass., June 9, 1936, he was one of seven children of the late Domingos and Marion (Brown) da Silva and attended North Reading High. After high school, he entered the military, proudly serving with the U.S. Air Force from Feb. 15, 1954, until his honorable discharge on Oct. 16, 1957.

For many years, Mr. Silva was a repair technician, working in the arcade industry. For decades, he was also the owner of Newton Feed and Grain.

In addition to his devoted wife of 55 years, Jacqueline (Hildred) Silva, he is survived by five daughters and one son, Bonnie Silva and husband Russ Barry; Vicki Nelson and husband Troy; Holly Silva; Geraldine Palmer and husband Timothy; Rhonda Ayers and husband Phillip; and Shane Silva and wife Trina; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He also is survived by two sisters, Rosalind Arsenault and Florence Forbes, and one brother, Ronald Silva. In addition, he had numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends, all of whom will never forget the great impact he had on their lives. He was predeceased by two sons, Richard and Barry Silva; and three siblings, Gerald Brown, Dominic Silva and Mary Ann Lipert..

SERVICES: A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Road, Derry. Interment in Highland Cemetery, Newton, will be private for the family. Donations in his memory may be made to Family Promise of N.H.
