She also leaves many family members and friends in New York including her uncle, Anthony (Mary Ann) LaPolla; aunts, Anita (Frank) Cannistra, LuAnn (Francis) Barberio, and Laurene (Gary) Grates; along with many loving cousins. Jamie will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt with a passion for life while possessing a most spiritual and loving heart. She touched the lives of countless people and established many lasting friendships. She had an endless compassion for others and it was not unusual for her to welcome people she just met into her family during holidays or other special occasions. In the late 90s, she fulfilled her lust for travel by spending more than a year in Italy. There, she immersed herself into the culture by learning to speak fluent Italian and working. She adored her family, friends, cooking, fitness, and animals. She believed in the power of prayer, the power of the mind, positive energy, and love. Relatives and friends are invited to attend an interment service offered by Rev. Joseph Salerno on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Upper Mausoleum Chapel at Calvary Cemetery in Utica.
