JEFFREY BOWLAN 4/9/1987 - 8/29/2013 Jeffrey James Bowlan, 26, of Daggett, CA went home to his Lord and Savior August 29, 2013 in Hemet, CA. A loving daddy, wonderful husband, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Jeffrey was born April 9 1987 in San Bernardino, CA. He grew up an "Army Brat" and lived in Colorado, Texas, North Carolina, Virginia, and Germany. He was a 2005 graduate of Silver Valley Adult School and an employee of Northrop Grumman in Fort Irwin, C.A. Jeff loved fishing, bbqing, baseball, football, and doing all these with his two sons, Aaron and Mitchie. His boys were his motivation and encouragement to live a life of faith in the Lord, helping others, loving unconditionally, and striving to do the right thing. Jeff was very involved with his community, a member of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Barstow since 2008. He partnered with his wife in the worship ministry, learning the sound board, media systems, and chasing the boys. He was the co-founder of Hitting Kids with Hope, a summer group in Daggett. His mission was to get the kids off of the street, provide positivity and hope in the lives of the children in Daggett, feeding, clothing, and mentoring. He was also a member of the Daggett Volunteer Fire Department, his dream was to pursue firefighting as a life long career and was so happy to be a part of the department. Jeff was a Union Steward for the Teamsters Local 166, he loved being a part of and serving in his position. His oldest son Aaron played T-ball for the first time this spring on the Angels 2. Jeff was on the field with his son, encouraging and coaching him every game. He worked on batting, throwing, and catching everyday in the front yard. It was his dream to see his sons play ball Jeff had a heart for people. He always wanted to help in anyway he could. If there was a need, he tried to help fulfill that need. There had been times he heard of people needing food, he would raid his fridge and pantry and give with his whole heart. If a person was hurting or going through a trial his famous line would be, "wanna pray about it?" and right then and there he'd pray. He always prayed and spoke with the Lord. His favorite prayer time was before bedtime with his family, thanking the Lord for everything. Jeffrey lived a life of adventure, traveling everywhere and seeing everything he could. He spent many years in Germany, even learning the language, also visiting Italy, Greece, Holland, Hawaii, and nearly every state in the U.S. He made friends everywhere he went and talked with strangers like they had known each other since kindergarten. Jeff is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Deborah Padore. To forever carry on his memory, his wife of 4 years, Allyssa Bowlan, their sons, Aaron James Bowlan 4 and Mitchell Ryan Bowlan 1 of Daggett, CA; his parents, Alise and Timothy Gates of Fort Carson, CO and Jeffrey and Sheri Bowlan of Bellingham, WA; his sister, Timarie Gates of Fort Carson, CO, sister Breanna, husband Brett, and niece Anne Marie Black of Grafenwohr, Germany, sister Lacey Wright of Tuscon, AZ. Mother and Father- in- law Timothy and Bernadine O'Neal of Daggett, CA; and brother- in- law Timothy O'Neal of Pearl Harbor, HI. Grandparents. Mike and Linda Gates of Crestline, CA; and grandmother, Lorraine Adams of Las Vegas, NV. He had many uncles, aunts, and cousins who he loved and cherished with his whole heart. Jeffrey's life will be celebrated on Friday September 6, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Barstow, 1320 Barstow Road. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with Service at 11 a.m., followed by a Graveside Service at Mountain View Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Horizon Memorial Services of Barstow.
