JOHN JOSEPH FORD 6/7/1927 - 1/13/2014 John Ford, age 86, passed away January 13, 2014 in Oceanside, California. John was born on June 7, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Bob and Bud Ford. He grew up in Edwardsville, Illinois. He often spoke of his fond memories of attending St. Boniface Catholic School in Edwardsville. John was very proud of his service in the military. He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the Merchant Marines and the United States Air Force. John worked in the aerospace industry for many years. He also worked as a Management Analyst in Barstow at the Marine Corps Logistic Base. After retiring from the marine base, John taught part-time management courses at Barstow Community College. John also taught management courses at Boron Federal Prison. He often spoke of his interesting students there, which included politicians and a U.S. Senator. John lived many years in Silver Lakes, California before moving to Oceanside four years ago. John loved airplanes and boats, often owning them. He also enjoyed fixing and restoring things. He loved to search and find new "treasures", to bring home. While residing in Oceanside, John enjoyed visiting the harbor and looking at the boats. John attended San Luis Rey Mission Catholic Church in Oceanside. John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Louise, his children; Jack Ford, Dan Ford, Shawna Lee, Maureen Seagraves, and Patty Turville, and stepchildren, Kathleen Hood, Cindy Hood-Stefaniak, and Mark Hood. John had 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all. There will be a private family graveside ceremony held at Riverside Veteran's Cemetery in Riverside, California.
