JEANETTE STAFFORD 11/22/1922-6/29/2014 Jeanette Stafford passed away Sunday June 29, 2014 at her home. She was a resident of Apple Valley for the past 20 years. Jeanette was born in Temple, Texas on November 22, 1922 to James Luther Campbell and Elsie Pearl Frizzell. She had a career as a registered nurse in Santa Teresita Hospital in Duarte, California. She met and married the love of her life, Wendall Stafford, a decorated WWII hero (32nd Infantry Division), and the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for achievement in connection with military operations against the enemy near the Villa Verde Trail, Luzon, Philippine Islands on March 25, 1945. He also received the Purple Heart Medal for his heroic service to our country. Together Wendall and Jeanette bred and raised Arabian horses in Chino, California. Wendall passed away on May 18, 1995. Jeanette loved entertaining and was extremely talented in the art of cooking, baking and telling stories which she shared with friends and family throughout the years. Jeanette loved all kinds of animals - her dogs Tonto, Princess and Bingo were great companions while she tended to their "Stafford Arabian Horse Ranch" in Chino. Although she was a life-long dog lover, in her later years, she adopted Miko, a beautiful longhair Calico cat. Miko was a great friend and loyal companion and brought great joy to her life during the last seven years. "Auntie Jeannie" as her adopted family called her was an awesome lady who enjoyed every moment of a wonderful life. She lived her life to the fullest and shared her joy with many during her 92 years. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, son-in-law, grandsons, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all her extended family and friends who dearly loved her. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 11 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9974 "I" Ave., Hesperia CA 92345. Private inurnment will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
