ROBERT SCOTT SHEPHERD 6/26/1925-3/17/2013 Robert "Bob" Scott Shepherd, a man who loved our Lord, left this earth for higher ground on March 17, 2013. He was born in Dallas, TX to Harley Henry Shepherd and Mattie Pearl Shepherd, on June 26, 1925. Bob was preceded in death by his 5 siblings. He enlisted in the Navy in November 1942 and served as a Pharmacist's Mate in the South Pacific until the end of the war. He married Mary Frances "Frankie" Newman (deceased) in 1944 and together they raised three children; Marilynne Shepherd Schafer (Robert), Robert Shepherd II (Barbra), and Troy Shepherd (Karen). Professionally, Bob established and managed an advertising agency and went on to earn a degree as a Certified Life Underwriter and worked in the insurance industry until his retirement in 1990. Bob lost his wife Frankie in 2001, and relocated from Texas to Las Vegas, NV to be near his son, Rob. While in Las Vegas, he met Dorothy Reynolds on the internet. They married in May 2003 and Bob moved to Hesperia, CA where he lived the remainder of his life with Dorothy and daughter, Pam. He loved his family and totally enjoyed his seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. With his marriage to Dorothy he gained 2 stepdaughters, Linda Cohn and Pamela Reynolds, a granddaughter and six additional great grandchildren. Bob loved life and enjoyed traveling, going to seminars, taking online courses, following the stock market, woodworking, gardening and just being at home. He worshiped at Valley Christian Fellowship with his family. He was a kind and loving man and an optimist by nature. He's left a very large empty spot but we're so thankful we'll see him again in a far better place. Our family would like to thank our excellent caregivers, whom we grew to know and love, as they went the extra mile in their dedication and loving care. Also, the visiting nurses who stayed with us in caring support and help as needed. Last but not least, was the Veteran's Administration staff that were also so much support and help in service and supplies. Services will be held Monday, May 20th at 10:00 am at Kern Memorial Chapel in Hesperia, with military honors ceremony at Veteran's Memorial National Cemetery in Riverside, CA at 2:30 pm.
