THOMAS H. GLENT 12/15/1926 - 7/2/2013 Thomas H. Ghent, age 86, of Hesperia, CA, passed away on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013, in Victorville, CA. He was born on 12/15/1926 in Bridgeport, OH. His parents, Mr. Arthur R. Ghent and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Harding) Ghent, formerly lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Thomas was the second of three children. He married Alice Rose Burns in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 22, 1961. He helped Alice to raise her two children, Diane and Dennis. He attended school in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He proudly served our country by entering the U.S. Army, October, 27, 1950, in Albuquerque, NM. He worked as an Orderly and Corpsman with the Medical Company, 179th Infantry, in Korea. He left the service in October, 1956, with an Honorable Discharge. Tom moved to California upon his discharge from the Army and lived in Los Angeles. He and Alice later relocated to Hesperia in 1971, where he resided until his death. He loved going fishing and dancing to big band music. Tom was employed by Douglas Aircraft, in Long Beach, and Torrance, as a Non-Destructive Tester, for over 20 years. He then worked for Arizona Pipeline, in Hesperia, as a Field Coordinator, for 20 years. Tom was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Tom will be remembered by his loving family, including step-children, Diane Carrington-Nichols (husband, Robert) and Dennis Burns (wife, Eileen); grandchildren, Carolyn Burns (husband, Russell) and John Carrington; great-grand children John Cody Marzano, Collin Carrington, and Xander Palmer. Tom is survived by his sister, Mrs. Betty Garcia of Santa Fe, NM; several nieces and nephews and extended family across the country. Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice, as well as his brother, Edwin, and his parents. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Tom at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 12, 2013 at Desert View Memorial Chapel, located at 11478 Amargosa Rd., Victorville. Graveside service will follow at the cemetery. Following the services, a private luncheon will be served to our guests in the fellowship hall at Faith Lutheran Church, 9600 7th Ave., Hesperia.
