Manuel G. Pena, 70, went to heaven to be with the Lord on August 17, 2014.
He was born November 26, 1943 in Harlingen, the son of Jesus and Maria Pena.
Manuel was A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War; serving from 1967-1969. He was a member of and attended Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Harlingen.
He is survived by his wife Hortencia and stepdaughter Laura Garcia; sons, Manuel Jr. and Adrian; siblings, Petra Pena, Pedro (Gracie) Pena, Felicitas P. Aguilar, Frances (Carlos) Martinez, Dolores Pena, Martin Pena, Tomas (Janie) Pena, Ramiro Pena, Lelia Pena And Biada (Rudy) Galvan.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister Felicitas Pena Aguilar.
Visitation will be held at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home on Tuesday August 19, 2014 where the family will meet family and friends from 5-9 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday August 20, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mission at the Rio Grande Valley State Veteran's Cemetery with military rites.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Rene Olivarez, Ezekiel Ochoa, Ozzie Ochoa, Andres Perez, Jose Perez Jr., and James Pena.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home.
