HARLINGEN, TX. - Pedro Zepeda "Pete" age 83, went home to the Lord November 25, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 23, 1929 to Domingo and Rafaela Zepeda. Pete was a lifelong resident of Harlingen and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for four years having served a tour of duty in the Korean War and also served 20 years and two tours of duty in the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force. After his military retirement he worked at Kroger Grocery up until he retired in 1986. He also worked at Walmart from 1994 to 2002.
Pedro is preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Cerrillo Zepeda, July 9, 2005.
Left behind to cherish his wonderful memory are his children, Juanita K. Donner, Fernando Zepeda (Brenda), Eduardo Zepeda, David A. Zepeda, Pedro Zepeda Jr. and Victor Zepeda (Cindy), 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 brother. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 28, 2012 beginning at 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM with prayer of the holy rosary to begin at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday Novemeber 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Interment will follow to Restlawn Memorial Park with full military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 205 and VFW Post 2410.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eduardo Zepeda, Fernando Zepeda, Joshua Zepeda, Julio Torres and Hector Esparza.
Active pallbearers will be Victor Zepeda Jr., David Zepeda, Pete Zepeda, Eric Moreno, Victor Zepeda Sr. and Alejandro Rey Donner.
