HARLINGEN, TX. -
Samuel Moreno age 81, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of a Cameron County pioneer family. He was a lifetime resident of Los Indios/Harlingen area.
He graduated from Texas A&I University. He proudly served his country serving in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Moreno taught 29 years for San Benito Independent School District.
Survivors include his loving wife, Edna G. Moreno, children, Samuel Moreno Jr., (Lupita), Norma Lee Moreno (George), Sandra Canas (Frank), his grandchildren, Nicholas and Vincent Canas and Danielle Martinez, and 2 great grandchildren, sisters, Adela Page, Anita Mackey (George), Estella Fregeau (Richard), Eloisa Olivera, brother, Dan Moreno (Irma). He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and San Juana Weaver Moreno and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be held on Monday December 31, 2012 from 4:00-9:00 PM with prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM tonight.
Chapel Services will be held on Tuesday January 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Robert Rodriguez officiating.
Interment will follow to Heavenly Grace Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 205 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2410.
