CHONG, Hudson passed away peacefully at VGH after a lengthy illness. Born in Chongqing, China, he spent his formative years in Hong Kong, where he worked as a bank manager. After emigrating to Vancouver in 1977, he earned a Registered Industrial Accountant designation and became the administrator of Villa Cathay Care Home before his retirement in 2011. He was also a charter member of the Chinatown Vancouver branch of the Rotary Club. Beloved for his wit and zest for life, he leaves behind his wife, Mona, his sons, Kevin (Holly) and Daniel. He is also survived by his mother, Pui Lam; his sisters Grace (Wai), Connie (Anthony), Stella (George), and Maggie (Henry), his brothers Lance (Sylvia) and Vincent (Banita), and their children. He is predeceased by his father, Chung, and sister Sylvia. A family-only viewing will be held on January 11th followed by a Celebration of Life at the University Golf Club at 11 a.m. on January 19th. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
