It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mother, Isabel McNab North, Friday, May 9th. Mom was predeceased by her sisters Betty and Leslie, daughter Jeannine and grandson Johnny. She is survived by her daughters, Lesley and Colleen (Danny), grandchildren Rico (Erin), Nick, Nadine (Jeff), Nikki, Aaron (Maegan) and Desiree (John) and 9 great-grandchildren. Mom was born in Neepawa, Manitoba and grew up in Vancouver, graduated from Kitsilano High School in 1939 and attended UBC. During her long and varied career one of the highlights was working as a Librarian Assistant at John Oliver High School. In her late 60's she decided that she wanted a new adventure. Leaving Vancouver Mom moved to Haida Gwaii where she developed a relationship with Joanne and family. Mom was a breast cancer survivor, worked hard throughout her life, and lived with love, dignity, humor and kindness. A sunny smile and a sincere compliment greeted all she met. Thank-you to Louis Brier and Dolly for their care in her final years and to the many new friends she made while living there. Mom will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Mom, from now on
you will always have "blue sky days"
