KITAGAWA, Kiyoshi (Rod)
April 17, 1929 - August 1, 2014
Born in Vancouver, BC and passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, BC. Rod is survived by his wife Hifumi Anne of 52 years; sister Betty Arthur-Lewis (Tom) of Lillooet, BC; nephews Jim Arthur (Diane) of Lillooet and Jack Arthur (Brenda) of Nanaimo; nieces Fumiko and Sarah Arthur of Nanaimo and numerous cousins in Alberta and Ontario. He attended UBC and graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree. He taught high school in Kitimat and North Vancouver specializing in science and chemistry. Rod and Anne were married on July 20, 1962 in Vancouver and made North Vancouver their home. Rod was an avid reader, enjoyed sciences, nature, wildlife and had an appreciation for photography. He also enjoyed fishing, the Hastings Park Race Track, was a loyal football fan and had an extensive collection of baseball caps. Rod will be remembered as a great storyteller, jokester and was the life of the party. A private family Service has taken place. In lieu of flowers or Koden, donations in Rod's memory may be made to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice.
