McLAREN, Sylvia Dawn
February 28, 1972 – June 28, 2014
Sylvia Dawn McLaren (Sylver) age 42 passed away on June 28 following a brief but fierce battle with cancer. Raised in Ladner, BC, Sylvie attended Port Guichon Elementary, Delta Secondary and Graduated from Kwantlen College with a Degree in Journalism. She loved her life as a reporter for the Maple Ridge Times. She will be sadly missed by her son Chase, parents P.D. and Karen, and sisters Julie and Alexis O'Neill (Ty). She was also deeply loved by her nephews Jeffrey and Weston and her niece Frankie, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many dear close friends. A special thank you to all the nurses and volunteers at Langley Hospice who looked after Sylvie for over 5 months. Sylvie touched the lives and hearts of so many and will remain an inspiration to us all. A Celebration of Sylvie's Life will take place at 1 p.m. on July 27 at Langley Golf Centre: 216th and 44th Ave, Langley, BC. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made in Sylvers name to Langley Hospice.
