John "Jack" Alfred Cronander passed away on February 24, 2014. John was born August 1, 1928, in Cleveland Ohio. He grew up and attended school in Rocky River Ohio. In high school he played football and ran with the track & field team. His nickname in school was "Cronie."

He attended Michigan State University where he graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation he was in the Korean War where he was a 1st Lt and Platoon Leader in the Army. He received the Korean Service Medal w/l bronze service star, United Nations Service Metal and Combat Infantry Badge. After leaving the military he began his career in engineering.

In 1955 he moved to California and worked for North American Aviation Inc. and then later Ocean Systems. In 1974 he moved from LA to the Conejo Valley where he worked for North American Rockwell. He had a sharp mind and quick wit, and was knowledgeable about a wide range of subjects from history to politics to science and nature. No matter what the subject, Jack always had a fact, anecdote, or story to contribute. Despite illness in the last few years, his outlook was always positive and forward-looking; a reflection of his abiding love for family, friends, and life in general. He had a love of aviation and was a recreational pilot. He was a member of the Conejo Valley Gem & Mineral Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and devoted to the Catholic Church. He was an animal lover, but mostly he was a devoted husband and father, and friend to many.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean Cronander, father, Theodore Cronander, mother, Edna Cronander, brother, James Cronander, and infant son, John Cronander, Jr.

He leaves behind his daughters Janet Huebner of Oxnard and her husband Glenn, Diane Corrigan of Thousand Oaks and her husband Tom, son David Cronander of Thousand Oaks, grandson Ryan Huebner of Oxnard, and several nieces and nephews.
