Anna Lisa Zeller Anna Lisa Zeller, 53, died August 23, 2013, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born in Fresno, California on August 19, 1960, to Bert and Connie Alvarez. Lisa grew up in Visalia and Tulare, attending Wilson Elementary School and Cherry Avenue Middle School. After graduating in 1979 from Tulare Union High School, she attended Napa Community College and completed her education at San Jose State University in 1986. In San Jose, she enjoyed working at the San Jose Museum of Art and tutoring at Spencer Educational Services. In 1984, she joined Ford Aerospace & Communications/Loral in Sunnyvale, where she served as technical writer/editor and later as proposal and art coordinator until 1992. At Ford, she made many lifelong friends and met her husband Bryan. Bryan and Lisa married in 1988 and began their family in the neighborhood of Willow Glen in San Jose, where they brought home their daughter Brea in 1990. The family moved to Washington in 1994, living in Pasco and Federal Way before settling in Gig Harbor in 1997. Lisa was a voracious reader, but her passion was raising Brea. When Brea began school, Lisa was a devoted volunteer in her classrooms at Birney Elementary School, Baker Middle School, and Mt. Tahoma High School. She continued to encourage Brea's education through college and proudly watched Brea receive her diploma from University of Washington Tacoma in June. Lisa is survived by her husband Bryan and daughter Brea of Gig Harbor, WA; father Bert Alvarez of Tulare, CA; sister Carla and her husband Dave Calhoun of Visalia, CA; nephews Matthew and Joshua Calhoun of Long Beach, CA; brother-in-law Mike and his wife Jerrine Zeller of Pasco, WA; father-in-law Victor and his wife Sharon Zeller of Pasco, WA; and step-grandmother Sarah Ellen Ford of Clovis, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother Connie Alvarez and mother-in-law Wilma Zeller. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. They are grateful for the support of family members and friends who surrounded Lisa with love and affection in her final days. The family is also thankful for the Franciscan Hospice House staff and volunteers who cared for Lisa as well as her family and friends with compassion and respect. Remembrances may be made to Franciscan Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way W, University Place, WA 98466. Arrangements are by Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor, WA.
