Arlie Charles Bryant Arlie Charles Bryant, born in Briartown, OK on December 19, 1926 and passed away in Tulare, CA on August 19, 2013. He was a son of Edward and Molly Bryant. He grew up in Porum, OK where he attended an Indian School on the reservation. His family moved to McFarland, CA and he later joined the US Navy, where he served in Okinawa in WWII. He worked in the oil fields in California and later was employed by Global Marine Drilling Company offshore drilling all over the world and later retired in Oregon, where he was involved with the VFW and various other community organizations. He is precedeceased by his parents, two brothers, one sister, one son-in-law and two daughter-in-laws. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Betty M. Bryant and his sister, Lucille Branson of Arizona and his brother, Douglas Bryant of Bakersfield, CA. He is remembered by his children: Colene Skiles, Betty and Henry Kennedy, Billy and Kay Spence, Coni and Wyatt Ross, Sande Bryant-Anthony, Stewart Bradly and companion, Teresa Scott, Carlene and Gregory Horne, Arlie R. Bryant, Cody and Harley Bryant. Also he is survived by 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. There are countless extended family members and friends. Arlie is best remembered as a wonderful, loving family man who was happiest when surrounded by all his children. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. in Bakersfield, CA on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the home of his daughter, located at 7325 Budge Way.
