Carolyn Irene Jones Carolyn was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 9, 1928 and passed away on July 27, 2014 at the age of 85 years in Visalia, CA. During Carolyn's early childhood her parents Maxwell & Irene Hahn moved from place to place because of job opportunities. Her father was a newspaper reporter for the Toledo Blade then the Baltimore Sun Newspapers. Later he became the executive vice president of the Marshall Field Foundation. Mr. Hahn had his office on Park Avenue, New York City and the family's residence in Forest Hills, N.Y. Carolyn graduated from Northfield School for Girls, Northfield, Mass. In 1946 & from Simmons College, Boston, Mass. In 1950 with a B.S. degree in Dietetics. She completed her year of Dietetic Internship at the University of Washington in June, 1951. During her internship she met her future husband, Daniel M. Jones. They were married on September 8, 1951 in Forest Hills and immediately returned to Seattle where Carolyn became Dietician for the University of Washington Medical School Cafeteria. She worked while her husband completed his M.S. degree at the University. During the next 20 years she accompanied her husband living in San Francisco, CA, New Haven, Ct, Garden City, N.Y., Memphis, Tn, Yokosuka, Japan, Oakland, CA and finally Exeter, CA where they have lived since 1970. Carolyn was an active citizen of Exeter. She served on the Exeter High School Board of Trustees for 11 years & was president of the board in 1976-77. She was an active member of the Tulare County Medical Society Auxiliary for over 20 years & served one term as President in 1978-79. She was a member of the Exeter Presbyterian Church since 1971 and served on the Board of Deacons for many years. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Daniel M. Jones, M.D. of Exeter, Ca, their daughter Lauralyn Ann Chittenden & her husband Fred Chittenden, D.D.S. of Snohomish, Wa., son Daniel Mark Jones, D.P.M. & wife Barbara of S. Surrey, B.C., Canada & son Gareth Allan Jones & wife Shelly Lynn of Visalia, Ca., plus six very much loved grandchildren; Kathelyn Ann & Kevin Daniel Chittenden, Trevor Daniel & Allison Nicole Jones, & Lexie Louise & Arron Daniel Jones.
