Eugene "Gene" Blair Stull Eugene "Gene" Blair Stull was welcomed into Christ's kingdom on May 1, 2014. He was 84 years old. Gene was born to Platte and Vera Stull on February 6, 1930 in Hastings, Nebraska. He was the youngest of their 7 children. He graduated from Juniata High School in 1948 and joined the United States Army in 1950, serving his country during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Piedmont. He was honorably discharged in 1954 and awarded several service medals. On May 26, 1952 he married the love of his life Dorothy Lee Gillispie. Gene attended and graduated from Eugene (Oregon) Barber School in 1962 but worked as a maintenance mechanic with the training he had received in the Navy. Gene and Dorothy called Sunnyvale, California their home for many years. They adopted their daughter in 1967 and their son in 1969. Gene and Dorothy were long time members of Sunnyvale (Crosswalk) Baptist Church. Gene loved music and sang in the choir. They moved to Visalia in 2000 to be closer to their grandchildren. They soon became members of Gateway Baptist Church and loved going out to breakfast every morning at their favorite restaurant. Gene will always be remembered for the passion he had for this country and his political fervor. He was a man who loved and served God and was never afraid to share his beliefs with anyone who would listen. He shared an unpredictable sense of humor with anyone who knew him. Gene was preceded in death by his parents Platte and Vera Stull, brothers Richard, Leonard and Ralph, and sisters Miriam and Frances. Gene is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Dorothy Stull of Visalia, daughter Valerie Jesus of Visalia, son Patrick and his wife Paula Janille Stull of Sunnyvale, grandchildren Adam, Alex and Abigail Jesus and his newest granddaughters, twins Elissa and Evelyn Stull. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service in honor of Gene on Saturday, May 24 at 1:00pm. The service will be held at Café 210 in the assembly room at 210 W. Center Ave., Visalia. A reception will follow the service at the home of Valerie Jesus, 4800 W. Crowley Ct., Visalia. Arrangements by Miller Memorial Chapel.
