Harvey W. Russell Had a good life and left us under his our terms, quietly and peacefully on June 19, 2014 in Santa Rosa California. He was 89. Born and raised in a small town in Minnesota in 1924, he settled in Tulare after serving in the Army in WWII to start a new life as a husband and father. He worked for the Arden Dairy Creamery/Knudson Creamery until his retirement. He always considered Tulare to be his home. He complained about the hot weather but loved the companionship of family and friends, and his home where he lived for 60 years. He stayed active as an Elks Club member until his 70's and enjoyed traveling throughout California and beyond in his motor home which he took pride in repairing and maintaining. He could fix anything mechanical and always had some car part or appliance on his workbench that needed his attention. He is survived by wife of 10 years Mary Fender Russell of Porterville, son Don Russell of Guerneville CA, granddaughter Julie Garcia of Rancho Cordova CA, grandson Kevin Russell of Corvallis OR, and great grandchildren Sophie, Emma, Oliver, and Lilly. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Tulare Cemetery on June 25th at 11:00 a.m. Memorial remembrance can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) on-line at: www.alzfdn.org or phone toll free at 866.AFA.8484.
