Lonnie Edward Kutil, Sr. May 25, 1939 - May 19, 2012 Lonnie Edward Kutil, Sr., 72, passed away in his home in Visalia, CA on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Lonnie was born in Texas on May 25, 1939. He grew up in San Antonio Texas. Upon graduating high school, Lonnie joined the Texas National Guard. He then enlisted in the United States Navy where he served on the USS Capitaine and the USS Rasher Submarines during the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he began his 32 year career with Southern California Edison as an electrical engineer. Once retired, Lonnie worked for Business America and farmed his cherry trees. Lonnie is survived by his wife, Linda Kutil of Visalia, Lori (daughter) and John Akin, Leah (daughter) and Walter Spate, and Lonnie (son) and Jennifer Kutil, and his grandchildren: Audrey Akin, Samuel Akin, Claire Akin, Grayson Spate, Mary Akin, Lonnie Kutil, III, Hallee Spate, Grace Akin, and James Kutil. He is also survived by his sisters and brother in-laws, Barbara and Herman Herden and Carolyn and Donald Reneau, both of San Antonio, Texas; as well as his in-laws, Barbara and Doug Trainer, Teddy and Mary Lou Artz, Shirley and Don Ferguson, Patsy and Don Hardin, and Tommy and Vivian Artz of Texas in addition to several nieces and nephews. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. at the Visalia Public Cemetery in the Pavilion.
